Wow, hello! It's been a long time since I visited DA. Who's still here and what's going on? I miss making art with other people and think it's high time to get back into the swing of things a little bit.
As for myself, what have I been doing? Umm... where to begin?
I was burned out and very unhappy for a long time there and things just came to a head. I have now rocked my way into studying fitness and am on my way to becoming a Personal Trainer. I am a walking example of the folks you see on transformation shows like the Biggest Loser, but I have (very quietly) taken my time with this and gone through a lot of attitude adjustment and change of personal perspective. Back when I used to frequent this website I was a totally different person and no one will probably recognize me now.
But that's okay. Being a PT has become something I can be equally passionate about along with my artwork, which I'd lost for a while there. What's great about it is it's a TOTALLY DIFFERENT field! I am nothing but chipper to be able to divide my time between them. I was so frustrated with myself and my artwork, this career change has been the best thing that's ever happened to me. I can't emphasize enough the positive impact that regular physical activity and good nutrition has on your creative well being as well as physical, mental and emotional.
Though that's not the whole picture, of course, it plays an incredibly important part in my life and lately since study has finished for the year, I have more time on my hands and I am creating more and not worrying so much about being perfect with the outcome. I'm not any kind of amazing artist, and that's okay because I'm just enjoying the process again. It's such a liberating feeling.
A little freelance, a little PT, I'm not actually sure if the two careers are going to work together because they are both extremely demanding on time and personal development of skills and knowledge. But it's exciting to try it out! I look forward to the days I can run up, bike up, or climb a mountain, then whip out my sketchbook and scribble the view.
Anyway... that's my long-winded re-entrance. Not sorry though, haha! Hello to anyone who's still around! Even if it's just the crickets
